That movie had an awesome idea: dangerous stuff in an environment where humans are very vulnerable. I had an idea (not thread-related) for a remake, I would call it "Bears on a Space Shuttle"

The Chinese had planned to summon the great dragon Wobushuo Zhongwen to freeze the North glaciers and prevent The Great Flooding.
However, no one from the American council wanted to make the effort to learn chinese language and communicate with their people, and Chinese wouldn't learn english, therefore each party lived in separate worlds, unknowing the other's plans. BUT the dolphins had learned both chinese and english languages, and knew it was possible to get rid of the americans (an act of revenge on the Americans because of them training their dolphin brothers to trigger mines in wars) AND let the fauna, the Chinese people, and the Earth alive. Still, TO ACHIEVE THAT GOAL, they had to convince the Americans not to grab the whole core of the Earth, but only a part of it.

to summon the great dragon Wobushuo Zhongwen they need a few ancient artifacts at this time one was know to be sold by a Chinese farmer wong long during the 60s to a French Collector name Anselme Briel, Anselme Briel had one descendent.
the hunt is on to find this descendent and retrieve one of the ancient artifacts.

I smell a Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker film!
Didn't the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy also have rather intelligent dolphins, so that part of the plot may not be so "unrealistic"

Dolphins are smart chaps indeed. And so are the cuttlefish: they hypnotize other fish and eat them while they are staring. That, and they can melt take change colors and melt with the background to avoid predators.

Eeps no Jackie Chan/Chris Tucker (2 over-reactor) lol.
I'd prefer this guy (DaoMing Chen)
Not "rather intelligent", they are extremely intelligent, lol, I think cerb is right about the octopus, probably can use them instead.

I would only watch this movie on one condition: A gigantic, epic, godly clash to decide the victor between China and US. This fight will have Bruce Lee representing China (he may not be Chinese, but it'll do) and Chuck Norris representing Texas. Sorry, other 49 states, he's the Texas Ranger.
Am I the only one that smells Uwe Boll around here?
